We’ve developed a unique method for handling the intersection of business, people, and technology, and we strive to implement it within the technology systems of each of our small business customers. We believe strongly in determining the “why” before jumping in on the “how” or “what”; this is what makes us so different from other managed IT service providers, who are often more device-centric rather than business-centric. Always, we answer the business questions before deciding on the technology solution.
That’s partly why we don’t really consider ourselves an “IT Support” company. A dictionary defines support as “a person or thing that gives aid or assistance”. That sounds a lot like an after-the-fact activity, and that’s the heart of the problem. Designing and protecting a well thought out and tailored technology system should come first. The support for that system follows.
Unless the tech team puts primary focus on the business, and the technology system, the reactive mindset tends to take over. That’s when it feels like the tech guys aren’t in sync with the business, and certainly not driving efficiency and profits.
